| WESTERN AUSTRALIA AVIATION HERITAGE MUSEUM |
| On my recent trip to Western Australia (WA), I had the opportunity to visit the RAAF Association of WA Aviation Heritage Museum in Bullcreek, south of Perth. They have over 30 aircraft in 2 hangers, with some very interesting items such as the only Lancaster bomber in Australia, and a replica of a Junkers W-33. A viewing platform is in the WW2/modern aircraft hanger to get good views of the Lancaster. I do have two criticisms of the museum. First, the aircraft are crammed together Worse than the USAF Museum at Wright-Patt. The Vampire is under the wing of the Lancaster, good use of space, but poor for photography proposes. Second, some of the captions are wrong , for example the MK22 Spitfire had a sign stating that it was used during the Battle of Britain! The museum had a very good gift shop (I spent about AUS $100 there on books!) Check it out if you're in the area, and visit their website at www.raafawa.org.au for more detailed info and photos.
